It is common for projects launched through Catalant to be extended.
Extending a Project
An extension occurs when a Client chooses to continue the work being done with the Expert on a project. When an extension is initiated, the Expert will be prompted to submit an extension proposal with a description of the additional work to be done, deliverables, timelines, and fees.
Submitting an Extension
Clients can request a project extension in the workspace. Upon confirmation of the extension request, a notification will be sent to the Expert to submit an extension proposal. Log in to Catalant to create and submit your extension proposal.
Experts can also initiate an extension for a project if agreed upon previously with the Client. You can request an extension by clicking the grey "Request Extension” button on the top right of the workspace.
Confirming the extension request will prompt the Expert to submit an extension proposal, including a description of the additional work to be done, deliverables, timelines, and fees.
Viewing Projects with Extensions
When the extension proposal has been approved and the project agreement has been signed, the Client and Expert will be able to see a summary of payment information for all proposals on the "Payments” tab. The timeline will include all fees agreed upon in the proposal, and the payments summary will include the total fees and expenses across all proposals.
