When a Client approves an Expert’s proposal, the details from the approved proposal are pre-populated into a Project Agreement contract for Expert and Client review.
The first portion of the Project Agreement outlines all of the project-specific details, such as start and end dates, approach and deliverables, and fees. The subsequent pages contain the terms and conditions governing the engagement, such as confidentiality and work product ownership.
The Project Agreement is executed in three steps:
- The Expert and the Client both review the Project Agreement and complete the additional required fields in the interactive PDF.
- The Expert receives an email prompting them to sign the Project Agreement using the e-signature workflow in Catalant's platform.
- Once the Expert has signed, the Client is prompted to sign the Project Agreement. A copy of the executed Project Agreement will be emailed to both parties and stored in the Catalant platform (in the Files tab of the Workspace) to be viewed or downloaded at any time.
Contracting Hold
In some cases after proposal acceptance, the client's special contracting requirements require the contract to be placed on hold. While on hold, neither party will be able to sign the contract on the platform - but you can read and review the contract during this period.
Once the special requirements have been met, you will then receive a notification that the agreement is ready for signature.
