Catalant offers compliance services to clients engaging with Experts through Catalant’s Expert Marketplace. As part of these compliance services, Clients may require Experts to undergo background checks (which may include drug screenings) before starting or completing a project. Clients can opt for basic background checks or customized packages.
We engage a third-party partner, HireRight, to perform these background checks.
HireRight Background Check
A basic background check includes:
- National Criminal Database Search
- County Criminal Search - (7-Year Address History)
- Sex Offender Registry Search
- SSN Trace
- OFAC Global Watchlist Search
Clients can also customize their background check packages to include additional checks. While these requests vary from client to client, common additional checks include:
- Employment Verification (current position)
- Education Verification
- Drug Screening
Initiating a HireRight Background Check
For Clients with compliance requirements, which may require only a background check or may be sequenced as a worker classification assessment followed by a background check, the Catalant Compliance team will kick off the process once the Client accepts an Expert’s proposal.
If an Expert’s proposal is accepted by a Client that requires background checks, the Expert will receive an email from HireRight. This email will include instructions for starting and completing the background check.
Drug Screening
If a Client requires an Expert to undergo drug screening as part of the background check, the email from HireRight will guide the Expert through the process. HireRight will assist the Expert with scheduling the drug screening and will identify nearby collection sites based on the location the Expert provides. The results of the screening will be communicated to the Catalant Compliance team as either pass or fail.
The drug screening panel varies by Client, but a commonly used screening includes checks for:
- Amphetamines
- Cocaine
- Marijuana
- Opiates
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
