Beginning September 2022, the new payments experience, makes managing the ‘payment’ tab on both proposals and active engagements even simpler. Redesigned interfaces, standardized calls to actions, and new features help experts stay organized and get paid faster.
Proposing a Payment Schedule
When submitting a proposal for both fixed fee (Link) and variable rate (Link) contracts, experts and clients agree on the total project value and an estimated expert payment schedule. Once the proposal is signed and work begins, experts can request payment from the ‘payment’ tab.
Managing Payments on Active Projects
Click the ‘payments’ tab to review a summary of payment schedule progress and plan future payment transfers. New collapsable interfaces allow experts to view only the necessary details when managing their schedule. Clear calls to action at the top of the ‘payment’ tab, screenshot below, tell experts exactly what actions to take to request payment.
These actionable payment submission reminders help keep projects moving forward and accelerate payment request submssion. Select the blue ‘submit payment’ to prompt client to take action. Once expert requests payment on either a fixed fee or variable rate project, clients receive an email notification outlining the details of the request and providing a link to review on the platform.
Reviewing Extensions
If the active project requires additional scope, client or expert can request an extension on that piece of work. When an expert requests an extension, they can submit an extension proposal for the client to review. This will generate an “Upcoming” payment section under the active section of the payments tab. The client can then review and approve the proposal.
The extension payment submission schedule will remain in the upcoming section until all payments have been submitted and approved in the active payment submission schedule.
When the active schedule is complete, the page will refresh and the upcoming extension schedule will populate in the active section. A “Previous” section will also generate at the bottom of the page. This is where the completed schedule will populate to view the history. If there are multiple completed schedules, toggle between them using the dropdown menu.
Please note: For all projects launched before the new payments tab experience, the most recent payment schedule will populate in the Active section, and all previous schedules will populate in the Previous section. Action can be taken on previous payment schedules if payments need to be submitted.
